LIBERTY NET participants would like to hear from you. You don’t have to say anything profound unless you want to. You don’t have to agree. And if you just want to say “hello” and introduce yourself, or ask a question, that’s fine too. We’d be delighted to meet you, so check in this week!

Here’s a small selection from the topics debated on the Net’s session this time:

• Software-defined radios have a slight learning curve for most of us, but the results are amazing — perfectly rectangular “slidable” filters, superb dynamic range, lab grade panadaptors, a high degree of cleanliness, and configurable dead-flat frequency response, perfect for narrow-band communications or wideband high-fidelity AM or eSSB. (3 minutes)

• It’s now known that incandescent light bulbs are purposely designed to fail in a short time. Is the same true to a lesser extent of the newer bulb technologies. (10 minutes)

• The lesbian mayor of Houston, Texas has demanded of local pastors that copies of all sermon notes, videos, emails and any negative comments about homosexuality or the mayor herself, be turned over to her. If the churches don’t comply, fines and jail time will be sought. (15 minutes)

• The Jewish lobby is still pressuring the US to attack and murder innocent Iranians, despite the fact that 1) Iran certainly has every right to engage in nuclear science, even weapons, if such warmongering nations as the Washington regime and Tel Aviv can have them, and 2) well-educated Americans and other peoples around the world are becoming very angry at the aggressive wars for Israel in which the Washington regime has been engaging for more than a decade. (16 minutes)

• It’s embarrassing to admit it, but Sierra Leone has a far more reasonable and rational response to the Ebola outbreak than does the United States. (32 minutes)

Remember that you can receive the Liberty Net in the area of 3950 kHz (recently, 3995 has been used often) and above every Saturday night at 10PM Eastern Time, Wednesdays at 10PM — and don’t forget the Survival Net at 10PM on Sundays. Or listen live on the Internet (see the two “Liberty Net Live” links in the left column of this site for two live streaming sites with associated discussion rooms). And you can listen at your leisure via the mp3 files posted here at https://3950.net every week.

Once again, thanks to W1WCR for running this important and historic discussion net — now in its 40th year — and thanks also to N2IRJ for making these recordings available.
