Liberty-Net---Sony-2010

by Kevin Strom, WB4AIO

WERE YOU AWARE that there’s an effort to restrict amateur radio conversations to only bland, uncontroversial topics? In fact, if the would-be censors have their way, the only topics allowed would be those directly related to radio. This goes against more than a century of freedom of speech on the amateur airwaves. You can find the recommendation from the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) to have all amateur radio societies endorse the speech restrictions found in “Ethics and Operating Procedures for the Radio Amateur” on the ARRL Web site (hidden under a deceptive title of “reigning in interference”). Write to the ARRL and the IARU and let them know you don’t want your free speech restricted!

Here’s a small sample of the topics debated this week:

• In the Detroit area, a student at an all-Black school was beaten within an inch of his life in a dispute over athletic shoes. Why these innately uninteresting and boring pieces of footwear are so passionately desired by our African-American equals is a mystery to many. (15 minutes)

• There are very few public media of communication that are essentially un-censorable — and the Liberty Net is one of those few. (43 minutes)

• Even though the death penalty is extreme and in most cases uncalled-for, there are some valid exceptions — such as sociopathic oligarchs abusing their positions of power. (45 minutes)

• Muslims are reporting that they are “having difficulties adjusting to life in France,” where the public schools insist on teaching evolution and refusing to provide “Halal” meals or teach from the Koran. The real answer, of course, is that Middle Easterners should leave France and go back to the Middle East. (49 minutes)

• In the bad old America, there used to be basic civics and Constitutional literacy tests one had to pass before one was allowed to vote. Perhaps it’s time to re-institute them — and also time to remove all “lawmakers” from office who can’t pass the same tests. (55 minutes)

• There’s strong evidence that the increasing number of Enterovirus 68 cases are a direct result of the Washington regime’s “open borders” immigration policies. (1 hour 9 minutes)

Remember that you can receive the Liberty Net on an open frequency around — usually well above — 3950 kHz every Saturday night at 10PM Eastern Time (lately, 3995 has been used most often). You can also listen live on the Internet or listen at your leisure via the mp3 files posted right here at https://3950.net every week. And don’t forget the Midweek Liberty Net on Wednesdays and the Survival Net on Sundays — all at 10PM Eastern.

The complete net recording is posted at the very top of the right column (under “Liberty Net Audio”) here on https://3950.net — usually on the day immediately following the net, so look for it there if you’d like to listen or download after the net has signed off. The new articles and summaries (like this one, found in the center column) show up around a week later.

Once again, thanks to W1WCR and all participants for making this extraordinary net possible — and please check in!
