Liberty Net: March 12, 2011

by Kevin Strom, WB4AIO

75 METER CONDITIONS CONTINUED to be excellent for the Liberty Net as Spring approaches, but the band’s crowding — partly caused by DRM interference — required considerable frequency flexibility, and the net found itself on 3993 kHz, which turned out to be a nice clear frequency. Our thanks go out to the 3993 late night operators who courteously allowed the Liberty Net to use their customary spot on the band.

Here’s a small sample of the subjects discussed this time on amateur radio’s most exciting net:

• Will the tsunami-related power plant accidents in Japan be used to kill nuclear energy use in the West? (2 minutes)

• The manager of the nation’s largest bond fund has now dumped all of his holdings of US government bonds. (12 minutes)

• At least 145,000 public school teachers were physically attacked by “minority” students in 2008; over 12 per cent. of all city teachers — and some of these were also raped. Why was none of this mentioned when Obama’s “anti-bullying” campaign was launched with so much fanfare? (21 minutes)

Liberty Net: March 5, 2011

CONDITIONS WERE EXCELLENT for the first March session of the Liberty Net this week, and a wide variety of views were presented, sometimes passionately, on subjects as disparate as the union conflicts in the Midwest and animal rights.

Here’s a sampling of what’s on this week’s recording:

• A sane and representative government would rescind NAFTA and other “free trade” agreements which force our workers to compete with slave-labor Third World peons. Instead, though, such agreements are being aggressively expanded. (48 minutes)

• Why are some jurisdictions outlawing all photography of police activities? What are they trying to hide? Isn’t photography — and the publication of said photography — protected by the First Amendment? (1 hour 45 minutes)

A COUPLE OF INSANELY OBSESSED would-be jammers made obscene catcalls and played noises during the Liberty Net this week, but even the lowest-power and furthest check-ins were able to overcome them and communicate an amazing array of ideas and new information to the other net participants.

[wpaudio url=”https://3950.net/recordings/LIBERTY%20NET%20%20%202011%20February%2026th,%20Saturday%20%20%205h%2053m%2000s%20%20%20Source%20%20N2IRJ.mp3″ text=”Listen: Liberty Net 2/26″]

Here are just a few of the subjects discussed and debated this week on amateur radio’s longest-running and best discussion net:

• Was the killing of four White Americans — three of whom were amateur radio operators — by savage Somali pirates revenge for the recent sentencing of another Somali pirate? It is reported that some 30 ships and about 600 captives are still being held by these pirates. (15 minutes)

• Why does Obama meet with lobbyists in a small complex just off the White House grounds? Simple: If he met with them on White House grounds, the lobbyists would have to sign Secret Service logs, which are required to be released to the public. (20 minutes)

GOOD PROPAGATION REUNITED with 75 meters like two long-separated lovers this week (let’s hear it for sunspots!), and signals were loud and clear for the Liberty Net. Only the regrettable DRM interference from the BBC necessitated a frequency change during the net’s entire five-hour-plus run.

[wpaudio url=”https://3950.net/recordings/LIBERTY%20NET%20%20%202011%20February%2019,%20Saturday%20%20%205h%2018%20m%2000%20s%20%20%20(3%20of%203)%20%20%20Source%20%20N2IRJ.mp3″ text=”Listen: Liberty Net 2/19″]

Here’s my summary of a small sample of the ideas put forth this time on amateur radio’s historic Liberty Net:

• It may be due to less than idealistic reasons (like partisan squabbling and the budget crunch), but one hopeful sign these days is that funding for Obama’s unconstitutional “czars” has been cut off. (2 minutes)

• Why did the unions and the government both agree to public employee pension plans that were absolutely unsustainable during periods of low interest rates? Were they sold a bill of goods by crooked bankers? (34 minutes)

A CORONAL MASS EJECTION event almost blanked the 75 meter band this week — many signals were more than 50 dB down from normal strength — but the check-ins to the Liberty Net, and exciting ideas and debate, continued at an energetic pace nevertheless.

[wpaudio url=”https://3950.net/recordings/LIBERTY%20NET%20%20%202011%20February%2012th,%20Saturday%20%20%205h%2019m%2000s%20%20%20Source%20%20N2IRJ.mp3″ text=”Listen: Liberty Net 2/12″]

Here’s a brief summary of some of the ideas put forth this time on amateur radio’s most impressive discussion net:

• In a recent marketing campaign, J.P. Morgan has been practically begging its customers to let it hold their physical gold. What Morgan isn’t telling them is that the firm is often shorting gold on the market and “borrowing” its customers’ assets (without compensation) when they must cover, to avoid driving up the price. All of this is directly contrary to their customers’ interests and constitutes fraud. (36 minutes)

• Is race-mixing Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas going to get in trouble over the “financial disclosure” laws of the very establishment he has supported his entire professional life? (44 minutes)

ON SATURDAY NIGHT the ionosphere went almost into shutdown mode, with all signals weak and short-skip signals almost nonexistent except for a fluttery backscatter — but that didn’t stop a flood of new stations from checking into America’s longest-running amateur radio discussion net, the Liberty Net. That just goes to show that even when Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate, well-engineered home HF radio setups can still communicate on a continental scale.

Here are some of the subjects that participants discussed this week:

• This week, a Florida judge ruled that “Obamacare,” with its unprecedented compulsory purchase requirements, is unconstitutional — a decision also reached recently in Virginia. (22 minutes)

• A sitting governor of North Dakota was removed from office when it was found that he did not meet constitutional eligibility requirements, so there is a precedent for removing Obama under similar circumstances. (24 minutes)

THE LIBERTY NET continues to become more and more well-known, with numerous new stations hearing about us and checking in every week. The Net Control Station, W1WCR, maintains a list of check-ins and everyone gets his turn — but with the large number of newcomers, that can sometimes take an hour!

[wpaudio url=”https://3950.net/recordings/LIBERTY%20NET%20%20%202011%20January%2029th,%20Saturday%20%20%205h%2023m%2000s%20%20%20Source%20%20N2IRJ.mp3″ text=”Listen: Liberty Net 1/29″]

Here’s my summary of just a few of the topics discussed this time on amateur radio’s most exciting net:

• Isn’t it ironic that Obama is scolding the Egyptian government for cutting off the Internet, while at the same time the Washington regime is demanding a law that gives the executive branch an Internet “kill switch” that would do exactly the same thing in this country? (1 hour 9 minutes)

• A professor at the US Naval Academy (USNA) says that his school will “do anything” to attract and promote non-White students. He says that there is a two-tiered system in place under which non-Whites are given easier assignments, enjoy lower admission and promotion standards, and receive free “unlimited tutoring” that White students aren’t allowed to get. The USNA’s commander admits as much, saying that “diversity” is the Academy’s “number one priority.” (1 hour 32 minutes)

THERE WAS AN AMAZING debate this week between long-time Liberty Net participants and some neoconservatives who checked into the net at about the three hour point. The neocons support the regime in Washington and the so-called “war on terror,” and oppose any dissenting views on the Middle East or 9/11. When the sparks flew between the opposing parties, the frank words that ensued were very interesting indeed.

Here’s a small selection of the topics discussed this time on amateur radio’s longest-running discussion net:

• Why is the Bank of America now demanding that all its employees and contractors hand over a list of — and control over — all their assets as a condition of employment? (30 minutes)

• In Oakland, California — which is 90% non-White — a second grade teacher was recently suspended for asking students to disrobe and to engage in oral intercourse in the classroom. (35 minutes)

CRUSHED BY MANY FEET of snow this severe New Jersey winter, N2IRJ’s low-noise receiving antenna nevertheless continues to perform, bringing us this week’s Liberty Net recording with almost perfect reception despite variable — and at times very long — skip, and even a few attempts at malicious interference.

Here’s a small sample of the issues discussed this time on amateur radio’s most historic discussion net:

• The mortgage crisis that crashed the economy is one of the most gigantic frauds in human history. Why is it, then, that almost no one amongst the fraudsters has gone to jail? (40 minutes)

RADIO CONDITIONS were unsettled this week, but N2IRJ’s superb low-noise receiving setup allowed excellent copy of almost all stations on the latest session of the Liberty Net, and there were a large number of new stations checking in as the word spreads about the most exciting net on amateur radio. Since the BBC’s DRM transmission has been wiping out the area around 3950 kHz (why can’t the broadcasters move to 90 meters and leave 75 meters alone?), the net has been favoring 3966 kHz.

[wpaudio url=”https://3950.net/recordings/LIBERTY%20NET%20%20%202010%20November%2020th,%20Saturday%20%20%204h%2018m%2054s%20%20%20Source%20%20N2IRJ.mp3″ text=”Listen: 11/20 Liberty Net”]

Here’s a small sample of the issues discussed this time on amateur radio’s longest-running discussion net:

• We hear an amazing firsthand account of W8LDW’s recent experiences with “airport security” and the TSA, who are criminally violating our constitutional rights with their so-called “enhanced security” procedures. These blue-shirted, gold-badged bureaucrats treat Americans as “animals to be contained and caged and poked and prodded and irradiated.” (25 minutes)
